Mughal gardens

The Mughal Gardens in Kashmir are a group of gardens built by the Mughal emperors in the Indian subcontinent during their reign.

These gardens are known for their intricate designs, symmetry, and use of water features. The Mughal Gardens in Kashmir include three main gardens: the Shalimar Bagh, Nishat Bagh, and Chashme Shahi.

Shalimar Bagh, located on the banks of Dal Lake in Srinagar, was built by Mughal Emperor Jahangir in 1619 AD for his wife Nur Jahan. The garden is known for its terraces, fountains, and pavilions.

Nishat Bagh, located on the eastern side of the Dal Lake, was built by Jahangir's brother, Asif Khan, in 1633 AD. The garden is famous for its terraces, water channels, and flowering plants.

Chashme Shahi, located near Raj Bhawan in Srinagar, was built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in 1632 AD. The garden is known for its natural spring, which feeds a series of fountains and waterfalls.

These Mughal Gardens in Kashmir are among the most popular tourist attractions in the region and are a testament to the rich cultural heritage of the Mughal Empire.
